Though it may not be apparent in day to day usage, there are two distinct permission levels used extensively at this forum: MEMBER and BOT.
Participants with BOT privileges can see GUEST, BOT and MEMBER forums, whereas general members can view only GUEST and MEMBER Forums.

If a MEMBER is invited to engage in discussion taking place in a BOT forum, they will receive the message:

Sorry, the link that brought you to this page seems to be out of date or broken.

... which is the standard message for when the user does not have a permission level high enough to engage in that forum.

So this is the message that a GUEST (site visitors or unvalidated registrants) receives when trying to access a MEMBER forum, or above.
And this is the message a GUEST or MEMBER receives when trying to access a BOT forum, or above.
And this is the message all three would receive in trying to access an ADMIN forum, as ADMIN is the highest permission level of all.

So it is useful to note the distinction when inviting discussion within the BOT forum. Invitations should go to BOT registrants, for example, to avoid this error message and related problems among member registrants.
